The Eureka County Sheriff's Office responded to a call in a remote part of Eureka County, in the Crescent Valley area, on Monday, April 22.
It was notified that there may be explosives there.
A Sergeant and the Sheriff found an unknown amount of aged dynamite in the area.
They contacted the Elko Regional Bomb Squad. The Bomb Squad determined it would be safest to detonate the dynamite in place due to the age and unknown amount.
The Bomb Squad detonated the dynamite with the Eureka County Sheriff's Office, Crescent Valley Fire and Eureka County EMS on the scene.Â
It said the area was safe after the detonations.
