Reno Police officer

The Reno Police Department arrested a man who allegedly stole from a home near 11000 Andes Street around 11:30 a.m. on April 11.

Police say the homeowner was out of town and called to report that she saw a man and a woman enter her home on her home security cameras.

RPD used a Drone First Responder Unit (DRF) to find the suspects and their car at the home on Andes Street. The suspects left the area after spotting the drone, and went to a different location near 12000 Camel Rock Drive, about a mile away.

When officers arrived, they told the occupants to exit the home. Everyone inside came out, including the two suspects, and they were cooperative.

Police arrested the man, 35-year-old Hanley Shawn, and found stolen property from the home on Andes Street.

Shawn was booked into the Washoe County Jail on one count of residential burglary.
