Reno Housing Authority waitlists opened on Monday, April 15, for the public housing program and the housing choice voucher, previously known as Section 8.
To apply for either program, people can visit the Reno Housing Authority website and click the waitlist banner at the top of the homepage.
You can also visit the RHA main office at 1525 East 9th Street in Reno.
The waitlists are expected to close on Friday, May 3.
RHA provides interpretation, translation and accommodations to people who need them. You can notify them by phone at (775) 329-3630 or by visiting the office in person.
“Opening the waitlists provides an additional resource to individuals and families struggling to secure affordable housing in Washoe County,” said Executive Director Hilary Lopez, Ph.D. “The Reno Housing Authority has been a resource in our community for more than 80 years. We provide solutions to our area’s housing needs through our public housing, rental assistance programs and expanded housing opportunities, helping fulfill a basic need in Northern Nevada.”
