A man has been arrested and charged with open murder in the death of an Incline Village resident.

30-year-old Alec Flores is a suspect in the June 2023 death of 54-year-old Jeffrey McCunn according to a release from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.

The arrest was made following an investigation by Sheriff's Office detectives and was carried out by members of the Regional Crime Suppression Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service.

On the night of June 23rd of last year, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Hazel Court in Incline Village.

When deputies and medical personnel arrived they found McCunn dead inside the home.

Detectives took over the investigation while the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Investigation Section and the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office conducted their own investigations.

In the course of the investigation by Sheriff's Office detectives Flores was identified as a suspect and an arrest warrant was issued for him on May 14th of this year by the Incline Village-Crystal Bay Township Justice Court.

On Thursday, May 23rd Flores was found in Reno and taken into custody without incident.

He was taken to the Washoe County Detention Facility where he is being held on the charge of open murder with a deadly weapon enhancement.
