Burners are beginning their voyages to the playa.

After turning off Interstate 80 eastbound, there's plenty of signage heading into Wadsworth reminding those heading up to drive safely and follow speed limits.

However, well before the Black Rock Desert, there's already things for people to be excited about.

When you look to the gas station just outside of Nixon, you will notice a lot of pop up shops.

This is known as the Burning Man Bazaar.

It's like a Pre-Burning Man party and you can find a wide eclectic range of different things here.

"So one of our friends decided hey why don't we have vending before burning man so we can, you know, help the people coming from abroad or sometimes they don't have gear to look awesome and their best potential," said Melany Castillo, Owner of Soul Crafts, one of the pop up shops at the bazaar.

For many years the bazaar used to be held up in Gerlach, but for the past few years it's home has been right outside Nixon.

Most shop workers will typically stay up until next Tuesday or Wednesday, then they'll go enjoy burning man for themselves.

Some shoppers said this a great way to kick off the festivities.

"I love it, it's so much fun to be here," said Noraly Van Deursen. "I'm with my friends here at the shop and it's just amazing because you're already getting into the vibes it's like a pre party yeah it's really much fun."
