A driver is suspected of being drunk after causing a wrong-way crash on U.S. 395 near Bordertown late Sunday night.

The crash happened just before 11:15 p.m. north of Bordertown about two miles from the state line.

California Highway Patrol says a Nissan Rogue was heading south in the opposite lanes when it collided head-on with a northbound Subaru Impreza.

CHP says the Subaru driver suffered critical injuries and was flown to a nearby hospital.

CHP says it tested the unidentified Nissan driver and subsequently placed him under arrest for DUI.

A portion of the highway was closed for the investigation, reopening around 3:45 a.m.

The wrong-way driver suffered minor injuries.
