als walk

ALS of Nevada is hosting its annual Walk for ALS at the Sparks Marina on Saturday, June 8.

Check-in will begin at 10:30 a.m., and the 1.25 mile walk itself will begin at noon.

There will also be snacks, a raffle, face painting, music, lawn games and more.

The walk is free to participate in, but you can also register as part of a team or as an individual to help fundraise.

People who can't attend but are interested in donating can do so at this link.

ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.

ALS of Nevada works to help people living with the disease and their families by supporting research into the disease, promoting public policies and more.

“This walk creates a sense of community and belonging for individuals living with ALS and the family members who care for them,” said Jen Larsen, Event Director for ALS of Nevada. “This walk is one of the biggest ways to support ALS patients in Nevada while also helping with research efforts to find a cure."
