A man has been convicted on multiple counts related to child sexual exploitation, including soliciting a child for prostitution.
47-year-old Timothy Leverette was also convicted for attempted abuse or neglect of a child involving sexual exploitation according to a press release from the Washoe County District Attorney's Office.
On November 1st of last year, a detective with the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit created an online advertisement on a known prostitution website, portraying a 17-year-old girl.
Leverette reached out to the detective via text saying he wanted to pay for a sexual experience.
During the conversation, Leverette said he knew the person he was messaging was a minor, and that he still wanted to proceed.
Less than an hour later, Leverette arrived at the agreed-upon location for what he believed would be a paid sexual encounter with a 17-year-old.
He was placed under arrest and told detectives that he had paid another girl for sex in the past and was somewhat familiar with the commercial sex trade, the release said.
His sentencing is set for April 11th.
