Amazing views from the Sardine Lakes located north of Truckee, CA and west of Sierraville in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. There's upper and lower Sardine Lakes and and nice campground and check out Sardine Lake Resort. Down the road from here you can catch the Sierra Buttes Trail that goes up to the fire lookout tower.
