Boeing has violated a settlement that allowed the company to avoid criminal prosecution after two deadly crashes involving its 737 Max aircraft more than five years ago, the Justice Department told a federal judge.

Boeing has called off its first astronaut launch because of a balky rocket valve, two hours before the planned liftoff from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

The problem arose about seven hours after Monday’s predawn liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The FAA says the risk to the flying public is serious enough that it will put the order into effect in just 15 days.
