U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens is benefiting from tens of millions in pro-Israel spending in her race to be the Democratic nominee for Senate in Michigan. But while the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's nearly $30 million in spending has transformed the race, Stevens isn't interested in talking about it. At recent events and debates she never mentions the group directly and instead says anyone supporting her is doing it because of her work for Michigan. Her opponent, progressive favorite Abdul El-Sayed, has made the spending a central issue in the race. He has called Israel’s military campaign in Gaza a “genocide” and described the Israeli government as “evil."
