A small Baltimore-based company named Caddix is gaining attention after Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams started using its cleats. The NFL fined Williams for displaying an unapproved logo, but the exposure has been invaluable for Caddix. CEO Jack Rasmussen has offered to pay the fines, and the company provided blank cleats to Williams to avoid further penalties. Caddix cleats feature flexible studs designed to reduce strain on knees and ankles. More than 80 NFL players, including Cooper Kupp and Jalen Ramsey, are using them. Kayla Sharples, a defender on the NWSL’s Kansas City Current, is an investor in Caddix, and the brand also is popular in women’s lacrosse.
