A magnitude 7 earthquake has hit China's Tibet region, killing at least 16 people and injuring 54. The quake struck on Thursday evening, collapsing hundreds of homes in the city of Nagqu. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing, with more than 1,600 local rescuers deployed. Supplies, including prefabricated housing and tents, have arrived in the region. This is the biggest earthquake in the area in five years, according to China's national broadcaster. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake's epicenter was east-northeast of Nagqu, in a sparsely populated area of northern Tibet.
