Chronic disease is a huge part of our rising healthcare costs in this country. To try and get healthcare costs under control a group called "The Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease" is focusing on a few states – like Nevada.
Lawmakers are reviewing a bill that would define obesity as a chronic disease and require an annual report about what's being done to fight it in Nevada.
According to the United Health Foundation 2013 Health Rankings, Nevada is ranked the 37th healthiest state in the country, which is a 5-point improvement from 42nd in 2011.
