Two Florida congresswomen met with the president of Colombia and saw where blockades were preventing humanitarian aid from getting to Venezuela during a visit to the Columbian-Venezuelan border.

The deal to temporarily end the government shutdown provides temporary relief for a local chocolate shop, of all places. Sugar Love Chocolates, located in The Basement in downtown Reno saw unprecedented delays during the shutdown. 

President Donald Trump has welcomed the president of Colombia to the White House for their first official meeting.

Colombian aviation authorities have lowered the death toll from the charter plane crash to 71 from 75, saying that four fewer people were aboard the aircraft than originally reported.

Colombia's government and the country's largest rebel movement have signed a historic peace accord ending a half-century of bloody combat. President Juan Manuel Santos and Rodrigo Londono, leader of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia or FARC, signed the 297-page agreement.

The Arkansas Department of Health says a person who recently traveled out of the United States has tested positive for the Zika virus. The department says that the person has a mild case of Zika, which is spread by mosquitoes and is suspected of causing a spate of birth defects in Brazil. 

The Miss Universe competition concluded Sunday night in Miami where Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega was crowned Miss Universe.
