Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby has taken an indefinite leave of absenceto enter a residential treatment program for a gambling addiction. Texas Tech says it is “committed to supporting Brendan through his recovery process and to ensure his long-term health and well-being.” Sorsby was one of the biggest names in this year’s transfer portal. He arrived from Cincinnati, which announced in February it would sue the quarterback for breaching his name, image and likeness contract. He began his college career at Indiana.

It might not take long to become a millionaire in the NFL. The minimum salary for a draft pick in 2026 will be $915,120. But some college stars entering the league will be taking pay cuts. With name, image and likeness payments on the rise in college and revenue sharing going into effect before the 2025 season, there are undoubtably players who will be drafted in the late rounds Saturday who topped the million-dollar mark last year and now will earn less in the pros. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman says the financial component makes evaluating a player's “passion and love of the game” more important than ever before.

Lauren Coughlin made sure victory was never truly in doubt Sunday in the Aramco Championship in rolling to a five-shot win over Nelly Korda and the rest of the star-studded field. Coughlin shot an even-par 72 for 7-under total and her first victory in two years. She earned $600,000. Korda was runner-up yet again after shooting a 75 and finishing at 2 under. This was her third consecutive second-place finish after opening her season by winning in Florida.
