Thinning of trees for fuels reduction and forest health is scheduled to resume this week on National Forest System lands between Fallen Leaf Road and Camp Richardson Corral and in the Spring Creek Homeowners Tract on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe.

The U.S. Forest Service will begin implementation of the Carnelian Hazardous Fuels Reduction and Healthy Forest Restoration Project as early as May 5. The project area includes approximately 3,297 acres adjacent to the communities of Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista, Carnelian Bay, Cedar Flat, Lake Forest, and Tahoe City.
