Ukraine's access to Starlink and Starshield satellite links has been restored to previous speeds, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He announced Saturday that the restoration began overnight, improving front-line logistics and defense against Russian drones. It comes as U.S. envoys have pushed for an end to the war. Russia agreed Wednesday to resume negotiations with Washington and Kyiv next month. A localized ceasefire was also brokered Friday by first lady Melania Trump in Ukraine's Kherson region. The limitations on Starshield had alarmed Ukraine's military, adding to tensions between Kyiv and Washington. Meanwhile, missile attacks and power blackouts continue in the region.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Russia launched ballistic missiles and drones to attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure again. He noted Monday that Kyiv received no early warning from partner countries. The attacks damaged over 10 energy facilities, leaving more than half a million people without power, heat and running water. A 21-year-old woman was killed in Kyiv. Zelenskyy is also dealing with U.S. policy changes from President Donald Trump that benefit Russia, including waiving sanctions on Moscow. Meanwhile, limits on Ukraine’s use of SpaceX’s Starlink system have affected drone operations. Western intelligence has been crucial for Ukraine, but fears are growing that such support may wane.

The relationship between the United States and Ukraine is careening toward a possible breaking point. Moscow has been strengthened by President Donald Trump’s recent rejection of new Russian sanctions and a deal to buy Russian diesel fuel. Kyiv says it has been undermined by disruptions in satellite support for its drones and the intelligence it usually gets from the U.S. The new low threatens to tip the balance of the war to Russia's favor and imperil American security interests around the globe. Experts say that Trump still has time to change course with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He's done it before.

Ukrainian attacks have set an oil export terminal ablaze in St. Petersburg. Kyiv launched over 1,000 drones across Russia in one of its largest aerial bombardments. The attack Sunday comes amid tensions between Ukraine and Washington, with U.S. President Donald Trump criticizing Kyiv for its strikes on Russian oil infrastructure and the future of further U.S. sanctions on Russia still uncertain. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said waiving sanctions against Russia would strengthen Putin’s war effort, and siding with Moscow would be a “historic mistake” for Washington. Trump said he decided to hold off on implementing new sanctions because he doesn’t want to drive Russia away from the bargaining table.
