One of Lovelock's biggest economic drivers is agriculture, but the rural northern Nevada town has had a rough stretch because of the drought. That bad luck has come to an end, thanks to the high amount of rain and snow that fell during the winter months.

For the last several years hydrologists have been hoping for a major "drought buster" of a winter and spring.

As winter winds down, Fallon residents are looking at what will come this spring.  After one of the wettest winters on record, Lake Lahontan is nearly full, but the forecast shows enough snowmelt to fill the lake two more times.

A good amount of snow fell in the Sierra during the winter, and while that is good for our water supply, residents are still encouraged to use water responsibly.
