The Van Fire burning north of Sun Valley is now fully contained, Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue reports.

With 96% containment, fire personnel are now shifting focus toward patrolling and monitoring the fire perimeter. 

The American Red Cross is helping evacuees affected by the Gold Ranch Fire, providing food and shelter and a place for pets. They have recommendations for people possibly facing evacuations.
