Eighteen suspects who were arrested in the July 2021 killing of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse are being extradited to the U.S. It marked the end of a drawn-out judicial process in Haiti for a killing that shocked the troubled Caribbean country. U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida Reding Quiñones said Sunday that the suspects will face trial in Florida. Quiñones didn't identify the suspects. But those who remain in Haiti awaiting trial include more than a dozen Colombian soldiers and a former Haitian government official. Quiñones said that 30 people have been indicted in Moïse’s killing. FBI Special Agent in Charge Brett Skiles noted that there were multiple arrests in the U.S. and abroad on Sunday.
