A Supreme Court decision allowing the Trump administration to end temporary protected status for hundreds of thousands of Haitians is rippling far beyond immigration courts. Across the country, nursing homes, home health agencies and families fear losing caregivers who help older and disabled Americans with daily life. Employers have struggled to fill jobs for nurses' assistants, home health aides and other caregiving roles for years. Immigrants make up a sizable share of such employees. And Haitians with temporary protected status, or TPS, have flocked to such jobs.
