Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian delivered a defiant speech at the United Nations as Tehran downplayed talks with the United States about their seven-month-long war. Speaking before the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday, Pezeshkian said his people had been the “victims of terrorism” at the hands of the United States. He described U.S. attacks on his country as “cowardly.” Iran's Foreign Ministry, meanwhile, took aim at U.S. President Donald Trump's assessment of talks between the countries as “very good,” instead characterizing them as “not anything new.”
