A coalition of President Donald Trump's critics is suing to block payouts from a new $1.8 billion settlement fund for Trump allies claiming to be victims of a weaponized government. Plaintiffs for the lawsuit filed Friday include a fired federal prosecutor and a California college professor acquitted of assaulting a federal agent. The lawsuit adds fuel to a mounting backlash against the government’s creation of an “Anti-Weaponization Fund” to resolve Trump’s IRS lawsuit over his leaked tax returns. Plaintiffs’ attorneys are seeking a court order halting the fund’s implementation and preventing any payments from it.
