A southern Nevada water-rescue team has been activated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and is deploying to Florida to be in position to respond to Hurricane Dorian.

Officials say a charter plane traveling from Cuba to north Florida ended up in a river at the end of a runway. A Naval Air Station Jacksonville news release says a Boeing 737 arriving from Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, crashed into the St. Johns River Friday night.

Investigators say the suspect in a deadly shooting at a Florida video game tournament specifically targeted other gamers.

Reno Police say they've arrested two people in connection with a man's death earlier this month. 

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says 11 hostages have been freed from a credit union in that north Florida city where they were held at gunpoint by a robbery suspect.

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board says in a statement that a search team has found the wreckage of a vessel believed to be the cargo ship El Faro, which went missing with 33 crewmembers on Oct. 1 during Hurricane Joaquin.   

The Coast Guard broke the news to grieving family members Wednesday that it was abandoning the search for the 33 mariners aboard a U.S. container ship that sank last week during Hurricane Joaquin.
