Wisconsin officials have destroyed the rifle Kyle Rittenhouse used to shoot three people during protests in Kenosha in 2020.
Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger said the state crime lab would destroy the gun, probably in April.
The jury came back with its verdict after close to 3 1/2 days of deliberation.
Rittenhouse could get life in prison if convicted of the most serious charge against him.
Kyle Rittenhouse, who is accused of fatally shooting two people in August during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, posted his $2 million bail on Friday and was released from custody.
The judge gave 14 days for the defense to review papers and file pleadings ahead of an Oct. 9 hearing.
