Our KTVN newsroom often hears from concerned parents about the lice policy in area schools. Students are not sent home if they have lice since it is more of a nuisance than a serious health risk. Doctors say this time of year they see more cases of head lice and while they are not a major threat to your health, getting rid of them is a big hassle.

A new study finds more and more lice are not responding to common over-the-counter treatments including permethrin.
