Authorities say the 73-year-old brother of Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid was arrested on misdemeanor driving under the influence, weapon and battery on an officer charges after he was found in a vehicle parked in a dirt median of a state highway in southern Nevada.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says a trooper fatally shot a man who was carrying a high-powered rifle while walking along Interstate 15 in Las Vegas early Saturday. 

Several of Nevada’s law enforcement agencies will be Joining Forces and focus their attention on speeders in the northeastern region of the state between April 27 and May 10.
