The California Highway Patrol's "Maximum Enforcement Period is in full effect and will continue until 11:59 p.m. on Christmas day. During this time, all available officers will be deployed on the roadways.

During the MEP, the CHP will deploy all available officers to patrol the highways looking to remove impaired drivers.

The CHP’s Labor Day MEP began at 6:01 p.m. on Friday, September 2, and continues through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, September 5.
