The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is strengthening its crime fighting efforts by strengthening neighborhoods with Neighborhood Watch, a crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of citizens in cooperation with the Sheriff’s Office.

A rise in criminal activity in old southwest Reno has prompted action from its residents. 

Residents in Sparks have started a neighborhood watch to combat the crime in the area. 

Officials say more than 40 cars have been damaged during attempted burglaries in Silver Springs. Now neighbors are uniting with law enforcement to bring an end to it.

A new neighborhood watch group in Silver Springs is holding a meeting Thursday night to discuss improving safety in that community.
