Fire regulations continue to tighten in Truckee. The area is under a California Residential Burn Ban and there is also a Campfire Ban. The Campfire Ban isn't new but this year there's more restrictions.

The Truckee Fire Protection District says they responded to a house explosion in Floriston on Monday afternoon. Nick Brown, Public Information Officer for the Truckee Fire Protection District, said the explosion happened around 3:30 p.m. at a residence on Spruce Street.
A constant rain fall made for wet conditions in and around Truckee Friday morning.
