The City of Sparks and Moana Nursery are giving away 300 trees to residents as part of a community greening initiative.

The money raised takes care of the grounds at the arboretum, the most plant diverse area in Northern Nevada.

Moana Nursery presented checks to 22 local non-profits today totaling over 25 thousand dollars, after raising money selling "Mumkins" - chrysanthemums planted inside Jack-O-Lantern pots.
