The StoneGate development project will move forward following a Reno City Council vote Wednesday.
To help ease the issue of affordable housing in the area, Reno's City Council unanimously voted to give the green light to city staff to take a closer look into what's called a Community Land Trust. The land trust would provide options for families to buy houses at well below the going market rate.
StoneGate would cover 1,378 acres on the south side of Highway 395, across from White Lake and northwest side of Peavine Mountain.
Reno City Council members on Wednesday agreed to a separation agreement involving City Manager Andrew Clinger, who is accused of sexually harassing three employees. Clinger announced he was resigning from his position on September 8th.
Both residential and industrial growth are coming to the North Valleys area.
The Reno City Council easily passed a motion at its meeting on Wednesday bringing a roughly 730-acre parcel from Washoe County.
Five new elected officials have officially taken their offices in the City of Reno, including Mayor.
