The Los Angeles Sparks have traded All-Star guard Kelsey Plum to the Phoenix Mercury for a first-round pick next year, Monique Akoa Makani and a second-round draft choice in 2028. The deal went through late Saturday night ahead of Sunday’s trade deadline. It’s the fourth time a WNBA All-Star has been traded in the middle of the season. Plum will wear No. 0 for the Mercury. She is a free agent at the end of this season and has been sidelined since June 21 because of a lower leg injury. She had been expected to play Sunday in the Sparks’ game against Portland before getting traded.
