The road trip through Albuquerque began with an 8-2 loss at Isotopes Park. Right-hander Kris Medlen was tagged for his fifth loss of the season, moving Reno to a record of 17-24 on the year. Medlen went 5.1 innings, allowed five earned runs on eight hits and struck out five.
The Aces extended their possession of first place in the Pacific Northern division by two games Wednesday night after an 11-2 win over Las Vegas.
