UPDATE: A career criminal thought to be the "Gypsy Hills Killer" has been sentenced to life in prison for raping and murdering two teenage girls in Northern California more than 40 years ago.
A judge has scheduled a hearing next week to discuss the mental health of the alleged Gypsy Hill serial killer.
San Mateo County Deputies say a suspect in the so-called ‘Gypsy Hill Murders' that occurred in the 1970's in the Bay Area has been charged with two of six of the murders. One of those murders happened in Reno in 1976.
On Monday, the FBI confirmed that 66-year-old Rodney Halbower has been named as a person of interest in the 1976 Gypsy Hill murders.
