For some local skiers and snowboarders, a long-held dream looks like it's becoming a reality at Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows: a gondola to connect the two resorts.

With the incredible winter we had, some ski resorts were able to stay open later than usual.  

With lots of snow leftover, skiers might be able to hit the slopes later than they ever have before, especially at Squaw. While you can see some melting in spots, the current snow depth is around 18 feet at the summit.
