Nevada is moving closer to earthquake warnings as officials plan a statewide ShakeAlert network.

Nevada Congressman Mark Amodei has announced nearly $35 million in funds to expand ShakeAlert earthquake early warning systems in Nevada.

An alert warning of a 5.9 earthquake just east of Dayton this morning turned out to be a false alarm.
