A road accident between two buses on a highway linking the Syrian capital with Deir el-Zour in the east has killed at least 35 people. State media reported the crash on Saturday. A health ministry official said 30 people were wounded in the collision between a civilian and Interior Ministry bus on the desert highway. Syrian military helicopters are assisting in the evacuation of the bodies and wounded individuals.
