The Bureau of Land Management in the Carson City District is asking the public to be mindful of target shooting on public lands and to take precautions in light of the Chaves Fire that burned over 3,000 acres this week.

The Bureau of Land Management and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Western Nevada Agency would like the community to be aware of the risk of wildfire when target shooting due to dry windy conditions and hot temperatures.

Hikers are out on the trails now that the weather has warmed up. But with a Red Flag warning and dry conditions in the woods around Galena Creek Park, people are very aware about what can happen if someone gets careless.
