President Donald Trump says newly planned talks between the U.S. and Tehran are the “last chance” for Iran to forge a deal and avoid an escalation of U.S. strikes. Trump confirmed that the two countries were in contact and said he expects negotiations to address reopening the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. concerns about Iran’s nuclear program. Trump said a day earlier he’d called off major strikes against Iran at the urging of Gulf allies. Meanwhile, 25 states have sued the Trump administration over its latest tariffs, calling them a pretext for replacing import taxes the Supreme Court struck down in February.
