The Lyon County Sheriff's Office got a call on Wednesday afternoon from a Silver Springs resident who discovered explosives on a recently purchased property.
The call came in around 1:10 p.m., according to a post from the LCSO on Facebook.
Deputies and personnel from the Central Lyon County Fire Protection District responded to West Fir Avenue in Silver Springs and confirmed that sticks of dynamite were present in an outbuilding on the property.
The explosives team from Naval Air Station Fallon conducted a controlled detonation of the materials late Wednesday night.
