A K-9 officer with the California Highway Patrol Northern Division helped sniff out a large number of illegal drugs during a traffic stop on Monday.
According to a Facebook post, the trooper who initiated the traffic stop became suspicious after talking to the driver.
K-9 Riva was then brought in to check the outside of the vehicle and alerted officers to the odor of drugs.
Troopers searched the vehicle and found 53.5 pounds of methamphetamine.
The driver was arrested without incident; their name has not been released.
