A Spring Creek man has been arrested on multiple charges, including drug trafficking, after their car aroused the suspicion of an Elko County deputy.
On Monday, September 14, an Elko County Sheriff’s Office deputy noticed a car on 5th Street that did not have proper nighttime lighting.
The driver of the car was identified as Pedro Rivera-Cortes of Spring Creek.
According to a post on Facebook from the ECSO, the car had fraudulent license plates. Rivera-Cortes also allegedly had a suspended driver’s license.
While searching the car, deputies found seven baggies of what was later identified as methamphetamine weighing around four ounces.
Rivera-Cortes was arrested on charges including trafficking more than 100 grams of a Schedule I controlled substance, driving an unregistered vehicle, operating an unsafe motor vehicle, and suspended driver’s license.
