A deputy from the Storey County Sheriff's Office arrested one man after a traffic stop that led to the discovery of narcotics.

On January 5, a driver, identified as 48 year old, Timothy Poland out of Hawthorne, Nevada, was stopped for a traffic stop, on an expired registration at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.

Deputies say in an online post, learned that Poland was on Parole and Probation, and had conditions he was supposed to comply with.

Eventually, a deputy with a K9 arrived on scene, and they then conducted an open-air sniff, which then prompted an alert for deputies to search the car.

During the search, deputies say they found drug paraphernalia, 22 grams of methamphetamine, a scale, and multiple small clear plastic bags.

Poland was arrested and booked for the alleged charges of possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, more than 14 grams but less than 28 grams, attempt to sell schedule I or II controlled substance, 2nd offence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
