La Posada Real, a popular restaurant in east Reno, was hit hard in a recent burglary.

Owner Jose DelReal says the volume of product stolen, and the destruction done will significantly impact his business.

The shock of it all is still setting in.  DelReal says.

"We're going to keep fighting and see what we do. There's a lot of damage, a lot of losses. I mean, we're thinking that all together, to fix the place the way it was, to get it back to, we're probably looking at over $400,000."

According to DelReal, thieves took off with iPads, monitors, surveillance cameras, and multiple other goods, including high-end tequila, to top-grade meat and beans, in addition to cash.

The destruction was bad. The building has extensive damage to the side patio door, windows, and the back room was destroyed.

DelReal adds, "Staff started cleaning everything that was destroyed and trying to put the place back together so we can open in time. We didn't think we can open, we asked some customers to wait a little bit."

The volume of product stolen and the destruction done will significantly impact the business, DelReal says.

A local long-time customer shared his concerns, "How hard it hits businesses, so it's important for people to help out. If this is your favorite restaurant, then come help them out. Just by having a meal, they need the help; they certainly can appreciate that, and keep supporting local businesses."

DelReal says he faces the possibility of closing his doors after 20 years in business and appreciates the local support.
