Reno’s 10 Torr Distilling & Brewing is opening its tasting room to the public this Friday, November 21, for the launch of its limited edition Rum, which features Washoe County K9 officer Jett.
The event begins at 5 p.m. at 490 Mill Street and gives attendees the chance to meet Jett in person.
Guests will be able to interact with Jett and other law enforcement K9 partners, sample 10 Torr’s craft beers and vacuum-distilled spirits, and support the Washoe County K9 Partners organization and its annual Barks & Badges event.
For every bottle sold at the event, $5 will be donated to Washoe County K9 Partners, which helps fund training, equipment, and medical care for the county’s K9 teams. Donations will continue while supplies last.
The first 25 guests to purchase a bottle of the Rum will receive a complimentary 10 Torr dog collar as a thank you for supporting the nonprofit and its work with local K9 teams.
“Crafting rum takes patience, dedication, and heart,” said Jamie Evans, chief financial officer for 10 Torr. “These qualities are exactly what our K9 teams bring to our community every day. We’re proud to raise a glass, and invite the community to help us raise funds, to support the handlers and dogs who help keep Washoe County safe.”
The event combines community engagement with fundraising, giving guests a chance to meet canine officers, sample beverages, and celebrate the launch of the limited edition Rum.
