In light of the head coach of the Portland Trailblazers and a player for the Miami Heat being arrested as part of a takedown of gambling operations, 2 News Nevada reached out to the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

The board issued a statement on the safeguards it has in place for sports betting and authentication.

Its statement can be read below.

"Nevada casinos monitor wagering transactions on their sports betting platforms to identify unusual betting patterns. Licensees disclose this information with law enforcement and gaming regulators and may share with integrity monitoring services.

In addition to safeguards deployed by Nevada casinos, the Nevada Gaming Control Board requires mandatory reporting for all suspicious wagering transactions, including Suspicious Transaction Reports, and Book Wagering Reports. Nevada licensees are proactive in conducting due diligence in their identification of patrons through 'Know Your Customer' protocols, verification of wagering sources of funds, and the reporting of Suspicious Activity Reports pursuant to Title 31."
