Sparks Police crash

Two Sparks police vehicles were damaged after being hit by a suspected DUI driver Saturday night.

Sparks Police say officers responded around 11:30 p.m. to a stalled vehicle near Pyramid Way and Farr Lane. The vehicle had run out of gas, and officers activated their emergency lights while helping the driver.

While officers were speaking with the motorist, a white Lexus traveling on Pyramid Way crashed into two marked police vehicles.

Officers immediately checked on the Lexus driver and provided medical aid. Police say they quickly determined alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.

Nevada State Police later responded and conducted the crash investigation. The Lexus driver, Donavon Ryales, was determined to be intoxicated, and criminal charges are pending.
