For the next month, Walmart and Sam's Club stores across the nation are partnering with local food banks to bring in funds and items to stock their shelves.
It's called 'Fight Hunger. Spark Change.' and it provides a lot of meals and funds for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
“This national program last year, it brought more than 350,000 meals just to our community. And it did that all across the country,” said Jocelyn Lantrip, the Director of Marketing for FBNN. “So those types of impacts I really can't... It's hard to even think about them not being there.”
Community members who want to donate have a few different options to do so.
Folks can round up or donate in-store at the register, online at the campaign website, and also by purchasing specific items from participating brands.
“People need our help. So, we need your help. So, we appreciate everybody helping us out,” said Lantrip.
She said that people don't think about hunger as much in the springtime -- but the Food Bank is as busy and in need as they are in December.
